FINAL: SHORT Consensus Call: Fellowship Selection Criteria
Here is the REVISED Criteria to be contributed by the ALAC for the new Fellowship Program. This version has been refined based on the comments submitted to the last version. With this message, I am initiating a SHORT Consensus Call of the ALAC to ratify the criteria document. This Consensus Call will end at 12:00 UTC on Friday, 14 September 2018. If there are any questions of comments, please direct them to either this list or to me directly. Although messages indicating support are welcome, they are not necessary. This Consensus Call will be deemed to have succeeded in the absence of significant opposition (greater than 20% as specified by ALAC RoP 12.3.3.1). Alan
Hi Judith Thank you for your concern. I am sure that the O&E group were interested in demonstrating a sample of the diversity of events that the Fellowship might take advantage of. Theoretically all these events should be on the ICANN calendar anyway, provided by ICANN Org staff who attend these events or by many of the event organisers who may already be participants of the ccNSO, GNSO or ASO. I am sure that the Fellowship Committee will get the whole list eventually, once they get all the Fellowship forms in. Hi Alan,
Also we need to add ARIN 43 to the list, ARIN 43 Bridgetown, Barbados 07 - 10 April 2019 .
This needs to be added to the list as there are 2 RIPE meetings listed
Best,
Judith

Hello Alan, Again if a candidate has the skill of Policy Development including understanding of ICANN policy issues, Knowledge and some technical experience of and within the internet ecosystem as well as legal skills, Drafting skills, ability to analyze data from an Internet end user perspective, etc. I don’t think that he/she needs to be funded as fellow. But as you know, Tijani, the Fellowship offers a fast-track view of ICANN that you dont normally get when you just come in "off the street" so to speak. The Fellowship will aso enable them to assess which area of ICANN is relevant to their backgrounds and skills, and they can then see the point in their involvement.. Those who don't, and we never see them again, probably aren't suited anyway. M On Wed, Sep 12, 2018 at 8:07 PM, Tijani BEN JEMAA <tijani.benjemaa@topnet.tn

And I suspect it was related to someone who had been chosen as a coach, and was given a Fellowship slot, just as they aim to do for the new mentors who are appointed. On Thu, Sep 13, 2018 at 5:45 AM, Alan Greenberg <alan.greenberg@mcgill.ca> wrote:

Indeed, we need to move forward. As a formal Sub-Committee of the ALAC, a task was given to O&E and the entire ALAC and regional leader group was asked to collaborate. I am not sure that we even need ratification for this, but I decided that we should do that. Alan At 13/09/2018 02:07 AM, Tijani BEN JEMAA wrote:
