Dear All, I support Amrita's point. Usually these Special Interest Groups are not registered in any country, but chartered by the Internet Society. However, it worth checking with them if they are registered in the country of the origin of the applicant. Which is India. Normally a SIG in ISOC is not restricted by geographic or regional boundaries.
While the applicant is from the region, many of the current office bearers of the SIG are located in other parts of the globe.
Perhaps these aspects would be evaluated before deciding on the request.
