The main points discussed between me and Karaitiana are as follow: - there should be more time given for APRALO people attending meetings to have their Visas taken care of earlier - Mexico was very last minute and that should not happen next time, confirmation should be obtained later - Chair supports that the Secretariat should be present at each ICANN meeting and the AGM - the Secretariat meeting during ICANN meetings is a good chance to interact. Thanks for sending the draft statement. I agree with all the points raised by Pavan. In addition, I suggest we emphasize to ICANN the importance of funding all AP ALSes to attend an annual general meeting of APRALO, concurring with one of ICANN meetings in a year. Although this issue has been raised by the ALAC statement, it does not harm to reiterate it. Given that APRALO will be the first RALO that is going to hold an AGM in 2009-2010 fiscal year, we may wish to pay high attention to the change of ICANN travel policy. All sound good to me. The Secretariat/Chair presence at ICANN meetings is something that we supported when I was APRALO Chair, and makes for a good opportunity to interact with the other RALOs executive, and discuss regional collaboration as well exchange ideas/knowledge.
