+1 Erich. Environment aspects are important, but not decisive in the ICANN meeting organisation. It is the question how best to organise the multistakeholder process taking into account time commitments and travel costs and who should share the burden. Some feeling of “representing the internet community”, taking responsibility and showing commitment to the “res publica” can be only achieved with a number of onsite-meetings.
