Yep that's the gist. Whether they are called 'ad-hoc" or "other" - they aren't part of the election currently underway. We will discuss and decide when we get a proposal to create that position (Beau is working on it) and then, if the position is created, we will be able to enter a process to determine who that advisor would be. And where is the rule about the creation of ad hoc positions. It was in an earlier draft, but not the one ratified. Is there such a thing as an "ad hoc" position?
We have no such advisor positions at the moment. We do have provision for "other" appointments and an advisor to the committee could likely fit there, but the appointment process differs from those for officers and formal liaisons. When the subject was raised, Jacqueline pointed out that if we want such advisors, that may be fine, but they are not part of the formal elections that are being carried out and the idea can be discussed in Los Angeles (not trying to put words in Jacqueline's mouth, but that is what I remember the gist of her comments were).
