Hi Vittorio if we want the policy work to come off, the people who are interested and motivated, wherever in the At Large they are, have to be the ones to get it done. Waiting on a small group is not a good idea if something is to be done. That does not mean that the current ALAC members are not going to participate, but they may not, especially as many of them are working on other areas, especially IDNs, and should the entire community lose out on the opportunity if they can't participate? I much prefer empowerment of the At Large (esp in policy issues) rather than have people waiting for the ALAC to tell them what to do! HI Danny, Alan
I am not sure that basing the proposed WG on substantial ALAC member participation will work, as many ALAC members seem to be really busy.
Hi, I don't want to sound rude, but I do have to post a call to order - if the members of the ALAC are so busy that they cannot devote any time to the single most important policy issue of the next few months, what do we have an ALAC for? Perhaps it's just a matter of getting priorities right. Ciao, -- vb.
