There is one possible option that can be done at the mailing-list administrative side. Mails going through the list can have a "reply-to" header added so that choosing "reply" (_not_ "reply all") to them sends your response to the list rather than the original sender. Under the current setting it is tempting to do "reply all", to respond to both the list and the sender, but then you're just repeating the original excess Cc's. Some people do not like this setting, but I find it works well and discourages cross-postings. As for the original point of this thread... a case can certainly made that JAW's excessive lists of CCs, to people that have responded that they clearly don't want the mail, constitutes spam. Anyone wishing to proceed accordingly, in appropriate anti-spam reporting action, has my support. - Evan
