Thanks! Please don't interpret my comments as any kind of accusation, or a lack of appreciation for Veronica's hard work. It's just that the only way we're going to overcome an attitude of defaulting to privacy is to point it out at every occasion -- even if it's accidental or unintentional. It really is necessary to get ALAC to think in terms of defaulting to openness unless privacy is specifically called for. It's sad that the existing culture appears to have set in a little more deeply than many would like, but it is fixable with a little vigilance. Even in the recent case of the domain tasting document, there was no reason to take the debate internal on the last day -- ESPECIALLY since there was no specific vote to endorse on the last day. The author(s) of a document are welcome to ignore last-minute comments, however the need for expediency is no excuse to suddenly turn an open process opaque.
