Today ICANN put up a notice indicating that it will hold community discussions in Washington DC and Marina del Rey on the "Revisiting Vertical Separation of Registries and Registrars" report. When are these meetings? In 2 days in Washington, DC and one week later in California. Thanks to ICANN for the heads up. I'm sure that everyone in the non-contracted-parties world will be able to drop whatever they are doing and rush to these events. Of course, no remote participation is offered. The notice is here: http://www.icann.org/en/announcements/announcement-2-09dec08-en.htm
I sometimes feel that Danny goes overboard in his comments. In this case, he is being rather mild-mannered. "Outrageous" is far to refined a term to describe this. Alan At 09/12/2008 02:52 PM, Danny Younger wrote:

So basically nobody will be able to attend? Sounds a bit like what one of our local councils did to push through an onerous decision ... waited until everyone was away then called a vote ...
