Con la misma lógica, se abrieron en Turquía y Singapur “headquarters” Icann que son “espejos” del que funcionó tradicionalmente sólo en Los Angeles. Desde Uruguay se agilizarán los trámites y asesorarán a los ISP latinoamericanos y caribeños en las notificaciones para los cambios de servidores y otros detalles técnicos que necesita el Icann para administrar la “raíz” de Internet. También publicarán desde la sede los proyectos de la corporación “en un lenguaje sencillo y en idioma castellano y portugués”, precisó de la Parra. “Es una estrategia para Latinoamérica y el Caribe, derivada de una baja participación de los grupos de investigación en el Icann”, explicó. Con vistas a la continuidad de la iniciativa, el ejecutivo anunció que se creó un grupo de trabajo con un plan estratégico a tres años del que participan Lacnic, LacTLD (reúne a los distribuidores de dominios de nivel superior), y representantes de los gobiernos de 15 países que eligieron a Argentina, México y Trinidad y Tobago como delegados.

Dear Peter! It was a pleasure chating with you yesterday. Last year I had the pleasure to listen Stephen presentation on Australia's NGN/NGA in Columbia University as I told you. I would love if I can profit from our planned meeting in Australia in August and spend two more days at my own expense getting some first hand experience of this great project, both from the regulatory as well form the user perspective, particularly from the point of view of public education. From that perspective I would be very grateful if you can help me contacting the right people and trying to get the whole program in just one official invitation from you Government for both, the ATRT2 meeting and the rest of my visit. LAX II Meeting

Dear Steve! it was a very good meeting indeed. The Friday morning session was very useful to me and many thanks to David for his excellent presentation. i read the full 2008 BCG Board Review paper on the way back and it was most interesting: - I have to agree that the Board is not similar to a parliamentary system. so I learned something. - Nevertheless there are other very insightful comments on the policy development process and the staffs role and I will prepare a separate note for the respective Workstream - In terms of metrics I wonder if David can prepare some specific longitudinal data on a sample of last years 51 (if I remember well) public comments processes. Maybe we can talk it over the phone. By the way i went to the Catalinas on Saturday and had the great pleasure to live trough the preparation heats of the Catalinas Downhill classic race that was going to be held on Sunday (longboard skaters). Last week's meeting in Los Angeles was excellent. It was a pleasure to be with everyone. Brian and the co-chairs ran a great meeting. Unfortunately, I cannot be on this Thursday evening's call. I have looked ahead and put all of the planned calls on my calendar. Below is my best guess as to which ones I will be able to attend. The meetings during the ICANN weeks are problematic for me. Several questions, presumably for Denise or whoever has access to the answers. 1. Regarding the Board resolution, can you please tell us when it was released to the public, and if different, to the review team? 2. When was the rationale for the resolution made available (again if the RT got it on a different date, what was that? 3. What was the rationale for 2012.11.08.03 delaying publication of the Board action. The published rationale does not address this aspect of the Board motion. 4. Column B of the spreadsheet seems to have been derived from the proposed Board actions in the Appendix to the Board briefing materials, but I can find no record of the Board actually following through on these proposed actions.
