Dear Jimson and other colleagues from the BC Outreach. I have added Omar as he is interested in joining the Outreach WG and brings in a great opportunity for the BC in the CASA states. I have suggested that we not try to address India in these states, as many of the ISPs from India are engaged in the ISPCP via one or two key associations and we should focus instead on the businesses from the other CASA countries, building from Afghanistan outward. I have made some edits on the great proposal that you presented, Jimson. I did speak with Chris Mondini recently, regarding the NRI linkage that I bring and I suggested that Andy and Jimson and I have a working call with Chris and Riccardo not only about ICANN59, but perhaps more strategic collaboration in the next 4-5 meetings. but let's start with J'berg. This great proposal does count on some ICANN resources, so that needs to be nailed down this next week. room for the meeting, remote participation and then collaboration during the broader lunch event if Chris Mondini is organizing that. I did propose that Omar and Lawrence, who are my mentees and myself as mentor in the pilot mentoring program could play a small mentoring role with all identified business leaders. I think I can speak for all of us, as the mentor that we would also provide a couple of collateral documents. I'll engage with Lawrence and Omar on those. I have made some suggested edits and I hope that we all agree that this is a unique opportunity. Getting a few NON Business speakers will make this richer and more useful to the business attendees. I can reach out to Patrick and Dave or to the SSAC regarding a possible speaker, once you give me the go ahead, Jimson. I did see your criticism, Lawrence and I do not in any way support that statement. Building on established an identified contacts across multiple countries is how we have gained engagement from Sri Lanka, ASOCIO, and Afghanistan. I did spend many years on trying to engage with South African business, in my earlier life, and we need the colleagues from ITA and their engagement with AfiCTA to gain attendance from South Africa and across the region. So, I really appreciate this approach and endorse it. I count on you to join in and support this proposal and you and Omar and I will discuss how the on boarding project can contribute. We have a lot of work to do to make on boarding realistic and this can be a pilot for us. I'll send you and Omar some suggestions on documents we can contribute as part of the on boarding pilot. I want to mention that at IGF58, that I had over 100 participants at the informal NRI event that I organized [and special thanks to Lawrence and Jimson and Omar for their engagement there!] and perhaps we look ahead, we might think about more strategic alignment with not only the ICANN Fellowship and Next Gen [we have not done anything yet to try to really use that program for the benefit of the BC Outreach], but also how we advance the work of the NRIs, who always have at least one and often more sessions about ICANN. I am very excited but this much broader event that we have done as Outreach and thank you, Jimson, for designing a great program. Please count on my support in any way, even if that means "moving the chairs". [😊] M
