Thanks All, and thanks again Marylin for the pointers. I would be securing the services of a local printer to have the fact sheet and cards printed out and would hand carry them to the event. i would love to see a sample of the small cards we have (in soft copy) if it would not be possible to have the at Kenya. I plan to speak about the BC early in my presentation as the body within ICANN that sponsored me to the event and dedicate 3 minutes of my slide (2-3 slides) to providing information on the BC. Am working around 10 minutes for my presentation until advised by the organizers. The presentation would be on the organizers website so i intend to have links in there that would lead visitors to relevant portions of the BC website, for those requiring further information. Good point you've raised Andrew and would look forward to that meeting in Jorburg. Thanks again, LOR On Fri, May 19, 2017 10:16 am, amack wrote:
All good advice and a good model for us. Thanks for the suggestions Marilyn. We want to support our ambassadors and make the process as simple as we can for anyone who is going to represent the BC.
The whole issue around getting materials printed + transported, about coordinating with local BC and allies and other things might be worth a quick discussion when we’re in Joburg as many of our Outreach experts will be there. Anything we can do to standardize/make it easy to get things organized I think will help us both be more efficient and and lower cost (in time and $) for our volunteers.
Great weekend all, Andrew ___________________

thanks, Lawrence for this copy of the invitation.
Let me see if I can finalize our joint understanding. from today's call:
The BC will fund $1500 for travel and an additional $200 [roughly which to me means at least some leeway of maybe an additional $50 or $100 with discretion to print the Fact Sheet.
I hope that you - Lawrence -- can arrange to print that with a local printer and carry it, or negotiate with Waudo for printing and hand carrying, and in any case, the printing cost up to that limit would be reimbursed for the fact sheet. In English. There are also small cards and those need to be sent to Waudo and Lawrence. Frankly, I do not use them much but they are helpful in many countries, so if they are available, perhaps they can be sent -- to Waudo and Lawrence?
This event topic is focused on "Small projects that promote Internet Development"
Now that the BC has a sponsored speaker -- you --to take up this issue and
also advance awareness of ICANN we should consider how to maximize both your
messages but the 2-3 minutes that are about the BC, as that is the purpose of the BC
sponsorship.
Can you advise how long your speaking role is and what we can do in terms of distribution
of materials in the room. As this is the last day of the event, one of my contacts advised that
many non technical attendees will have left.
I ask that Waudo and you consult and then provide advise on how the BC makes sure that the social events include you both.

The example I used is not intended to be negative, but to just use an analogy that is sort of humorous. I apologize that you were offended.
And in fact, actually, Rangers were law enforcement and were bound by law to adhere to law, not opinion. But that was long ago and far away and perhaps not a suitable analogy, so I repeat my apology.

May I solicit that we be a bit more civil with our choice of words as a team here. There is no seniority in the BC and our voting tier is on policy and operational issues only.
I hold my onions anywhere, rangers don't do that.
Lawrence.
