Dear all, I spoke with Riccardo early yesterday, and he had heard a response from the Meetings Team. I had sent this response to Jimson and Andrew separately yesterday—apologies for the delay as this email apparently was buried in my inbox. After his discussion with the Meetings Team, he told me that the possibility of extra days for outreach prior to the meeting (i.e., June 25) will most likely not happen. They are quite strict for events staying within the parameters of the meeting dates. However, the Meetings Team has written to the SO/AC planners who are working on the block schedule, mentioning all possible ideas for outreach events that came from the community - including the BC’s. So, the GNSO planning team is aware of the BC’s request and there might still be a possibility to hold a half-day during the week (TBC). A final option is that there is one hour of outreach time scheduled for every morning. Chris/Riccardo’s GSE team can help the BC organize a breakfast on a day when some important/interesting community discussion is happening so local business people can be invited in the morning to discuss ICANN and the BC over breakfast and then they can see ICANN policy work in action on the same day. What are your thoughts on doing a breakfast one of the days during the week, based on Riccardo’s suggestion? Let me know if any of this is unclear, and/or if you have any questions.
