Traditionally, the invitation was sent to me but I thought that it would be good to have someone from the Online Team. Attending this call is not a "right" but a privilege. Nora will be presenting numerous times to the At Large Team as well as other constituencies, so we will all get to meet and talk to her.
The decision to keep this call "small" is Staff's decision and nothing to do with the steering committee's decision. Whomever you select from amongst you to attend this call, should be sure that they will attend this informal call and report back to the Group both on the wiki and the mailing list.
The group can trust that anything that Nora is planning will of course take into consideration that which the constituencies think should be considered which is why Inwould encourage the Online Group and other grouos at this stage to get to work on your wiki space etc.

Personally I think this is unfair. We are all interested in attending, and have indicated our interest. I will not be attending the Durban meeting so I won’t have another chance to hear her personally and to ask her any questions directly before Durban – and I’d like to hear what Nora’s role is and what she is planning.
At the same time, I don’t think that it should just be one person attending. We all opted to be a part of this group and should hear the same message. If any of the group are going to Durban, then they can take any queries from the rest of the team along with them, and then feed back to us.. It would be good to be able to work WITH Nora on this.. because we are at a bit of a stand-still at the moment.
I am expressing my own personal view on what I feel is an attempt to block participation. It is not normal ICANN practice. I am sure that others will also have a view on this. I will add this note to the wiki.
