Dear all,
We are at GNSO discussing now the structure of meeting B. As far as I understand, meeting B will be very much focused on policy development. I asked a question now about the space in the schedule to sessions such as CCWP public session on human rights and others. The answer I got from our GNSO representative on meeting B discussions and from staff was that probably there will not be space in meeting B for these kind of gatherings. Staff added that maybe there will be consideration of requests coming from chartered efforts (some CCWGs mostly linked with policy topics).
My understanding is that the work being carried out by the CCWP human rights feeds into policy discussions and in the future into WS2. It should not be considered an "extracurricular activity", but as a gathering related to policy discussions. If others believe this is also the case, the CCWP may want to consider discussing and intervening on the planning of meeting B.
Thanks Marília
