Dear Colleagues,
Annebeth Lange, our co-chair on Work Track 5 (GNSO PDP SubPro), has informed us that the draft Final Report of the GNSO New gTLD Subsequent Procedures working group has been published for public comment at:
https://www.icann.org/public-comments/gnso-new-gtld-subsequent-draft-final-r...
The draft report includes without modification the Final Report produced by Work Track 5. Annebeth urged everyone to pay special attention to:
- Topic 21 Reserved Names (see footnote 120), page 92/93 under letter c) on reservation of two-character letter-number combination at the top-level. Public Comment for Geographic Names is included in Topic 21, under 21.1, referring to Annex I, which contains the Final Report of Work Track 5.
https://mm.icann.org/pipermail/gnso-newgtld-wg-wt5/attachments/20191102/ab9a...
It will strengthen the recommendations of Work Track 5 if supporting those under 21.1, question 117.
- Topic 24 – String Similarity Evaluations and Topic 25 IDNs, Topic 32 Limited Challenge/ Appeal Mechanisms (see page 156 for referral to Annex I)
Public comment period is open until 30 September. I would like to ask your thoughts: should we prepare and submit a Council statement? If yes, who would volunteer to prepare the first draft?
Thank you!
Kind regards,
]{atrina
