Gabi, It may be necessary to revisit the reasons for originally putting in place the fax or hard copy form before deleting this procedure. I vaguely remember that this fax or hard copy form or procedure was put in place in addition to the online form in order to assist those ccTLDs and/or countries who require a formally signed application or document to satisfy their national laws. It may as well be that more and more countries now officially recognise the online application as legally binding but does that now cover everyone globally? Paulos,
I've been with the ccNSO since January 2007, so I can only present data from then - during my time we only had one fax application.

Seems like a good idea but before I indicate my vote I would like to find out how rare these fax applications have been over, say, the last two years. Could the ccNSO Secratariat present some data?

Dear Councillors,
An action point from the last Council call was "Action 34-05: The ccNSO Secretariat to send out a summary of the request on ending fax applications to the ccNSO Council list where it will be subject to voting."
I would like to ask for your approval to end the acceptance of fax applications to the ccNSO.
The main reason is that it is problematic to archive such applications. The fax is received in Marina del Rey, needs to be forwarded to me and then there is no real good archiving system for that. The applications submitted via the webform are automatically archived in our web-archives.
I also think that the applicants are skilled enough to fill in the (very basic) web form, and last, but not least - fax applications are quite rare anyway.
Please, can you send your approval/disapproval to this suggestion to this list by next Wednesday, 29th October 2008.
Thanks,
Gabi
