ICANN Board Nomination Results
Dear all, The nomination period for a ccNSO representative to the ICANN Board ended last week. The only nominee was Chris Disspain, who accepted the nomination. This means that no election by the ccNSO members is necessary. The ccNSO Council now needs to formally adopt the result of the nomination process to select the representative in accordance with the ICANN bylaws. This will be done at the next Council meeting on the 19 October 2010. The nomination report is available at http://www.ccnso.icann.org/announcements/announcement-11oct10-en.htm Congratulations to Chris, who will take seat on the ICANN Board after the ICANN meeting in June 2011. Hi, Many congratulations to Chris. Whilst this is a loss to the ccNSO, I am pleased that the ICANN Board will be strengthened by the addition of your skills and experience. I do hope that this will represent the start of a new chapter in relationships and communication between ccTLD managers and ICANN. Events over the last year or so leave me feeling that both are in need of some attention. Regards, Lesley On 12/10/2010 12:37, "Gabriella Schittek" <gabriella.schittek@icann.org> wrote:

Congratulations Chris! This is a well-merited and timely appointment - my sincere congratulations. Future boards will be greatly enhanced by your presence. There will come a time when I can more completely and publicly thank you for the huge service you have provided the ccTLD community as ccNSO chair, but for now, note your leadership in this community since at least the days of the ccnso Launch Group in 2003, and your role since 2004 as the Chair of the ccNSO Council. The board will benefit greatly from your long experience of ICANN related issues. my best regards Peter Dengate Thrush barrister@chambers.gen.nz On Oct 13, 2010, at 12:37 AM, Gabriella Schittek wrote:

Good on you, Chris. Just as you have helped to convince even the most cynical about the ccNSO since our ccNSO Launcing Group days, we are glad and proud to note that with your ccNSO Council chairmanship, many of these are now happily and actively working in the ccNSO with us, and hence it is my hope that you will do just as great if not better as an ICANN Board Member. Looks good on you. Regards, Paulos ====================== Dr Paulos B Nyirenda Malawi .mw ccTLD http://www.registrar.mw On 12 Oct 2010 at 4:37, Gabriella Schittek wrote:
