The ccNSO secretariat is now initiating the selection process. As per the ICANN Bylaws, the ccNSO Council should appoint one representative. Those Councillors eligible to vote are expected to review the applications and select members based on how well the candidates meet the set of requirements. The deadline for this is Wednesday, 17 June 2020 (23:59 UTC). An email will be sent on 10 June 2020 (by 23:59 UTC) to the individual email addresses of the members of the ccNSO Council eligible to vote, with in attachment the application material as submitted by the 3 candidates. The 3 candidates, in alphabetical order: Juhani Juselius (.fi) | EU region Eberhard Lisse (.na) | AF region Biyi Oladipo (.ng) | AF region INSTRUCTIONS, as sent to those Councillors eligible to vote: * Please review the application material and select your preferred candidate – taking into account the candidate qualification requirements – by sending an email to joke.braeken@icann.org<mailto:joke.braeken@icann.org> , no later than Wednesday, 17 June 2020 (23:59 UTC), * Your most preferred candidate should receive three (3) points, the second candidate two (2) points, and the third and least preferred candidate one (1) point. If you believe a candidate does not meet the criteria: please assign zero (0) points. A kind reminder that the ccNSO Secretariat will track and publish for each council member its participation in an election process. Based on each of the individual Councillor’s rankings, the Secretariat will prepare the overall ranking of all candidates and report the ranking to the ccNSO Council on Thursday, 18 June 2020. The ccNSO Council chair will inform relevant ICANN staff latest on Friday, 19 June 2020 of the ccNSO appointed member to the NomCom. The Councillors eligible to vote will review the applications and select members based on how well the candidates meet the set of candidate requirements listed below: * Required to be associated with a ccTLD manager. * NomCom delegates should have a high-level network of contacts essential to candidate recruitment. * Eligibility Exception - Current ICANN employees or paid ICANN consultants (including Ombudsman) are excluded from consideration for eligibility as described in Article 8, Section 8.2 of ICANN’s Bylaws<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__www.icann.org_resources...>. Accomplished persons of integrity, objectivity, and intelligence, with reputations for sound judgment and open minds, and with experience and competence with collegial large group decision-making; b. Persons with wide contacts, broad experience in the Internet community, and a commitment to the success of ICANN; c. Persons who will consult widely and accept input in carrying out their responsibilities; d. Persons who are neutral and objective, without any fixed personal commitments to particular individuals, organizations, or commercial objectives in carrying out their Nominating Committee responsibilities; e. Persons with an understanding of ICANN's mission and the potential impact of ICANN's activities on the broader Internet community who are willing to serve as volunteers, without compensation other than the reimbursement of certain expenses; and f. Persons who are able to work and communicate in written and spoken English.
