Hi, Dr. Wang and All, In contemporary Chinese usage, single-character Han scripts carry a higher degree of uncertainty in meaning. If single-character Han scripts are used as TLDs, there would be significant security risks, such as phishing. Moreover, considering the similarities in pronunciation, form, and meaning of Han scripts, it would lead to a very poor application experience for CDNs and increase the difficulty of governance. Therefore, I personally suggest that there should be more thorough and cautious consideration when adopting single-character Han scripts as IDN gTLDs. Consequently, I believe clarification is necessary to ensure the community has a clearer understanding of CGP's stance: - - - - - - - - - - In the “Proposal for a Chinese Script Root Zone LGR”, CGP established rule set for Repertoire, Variants Characters, Visually Identical Characters and Variant Labels. CGP LGR addressed the issue of variant label generation for variant characters and visually identical characters. However, the semantic similarity issues have never been within the scope of our work. CGP suggested that ICANN delegate all-simplified, all-traditional, and originally applied-for labels, while blocking redundant all-simplified or all-traditional labels, and either blocking or allocating visually similar labels according to the Proposal. The proposed LGR makes no distinction between single-character labels and multiple-character Chinese labels. We hold the view that CGP is not in the position to propose rules regarding allocation of single-character TLD other than the label generation rule set as described above. Therefore, any concerns related to the confusion risks introduced by semantic ambiguity in single-character labels should be addressed by ICANN through alternative mechanisms. - - - - - - - - - - Please feel free to provide your comments and feedback.
