Dr. Yao, If you and other experts may object the current version of the CGP statement, any specific suggestion to the wording or spelling is welcomed. All GPs are task forces set up by ICANN to address root label generation rules, that CGP ONLY dispose the issues related with repertoire, variants and visual similarities. From that perspective, CGP RZ-LGR for TLD , much like CDNC rule set for SLD, are both applicable to single character label as well as multiple characters label. If you have different opinion, you also have the right to formally suggest CGP’s task should expand to semantic and other registration policy. Or you may suggest why single character label should NOT follow the RZ-LGR. As a team, CGP, should NOT, and has NOT got involved in registration policy discussions on single character issue. As an individual, every CGP member does has right to express his opinion on registration policy at suitable occasions like ccNSO or GAC. I am not sure whether the draft can be regarded as the CGP's statement. Wang Wei proposed the initial draft. It is not clear who supported this document. How to reach the consensus is not clear. From the https://www.icann.org/en/public-comment/proceeding/seeking-input-on-han-script-single-character-idn-generic-top-level-domains-27-06-2024, , it states that the draft is CGP's proposal. I consulted some CGP experts, and they did not know it and did not support it. Subject: [Ext] Re: CGP statement on the Single Character TLD implementation Dear Wang Wei, Kenny, Naiwen, and Yaling, Thank you very much for CGP statement draft. The current text of draft statement is in line with the basic thought kept by JGP and Japanese community during Japanese Root Zone LGR (J-LGR) development. I.e., no differentiation between single-character TLDs and multiple-character TLDs was not considered necessary and the current J-LGR is applicable also to single character TLDs.
