I am a registrant of a .com domain name. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price. I feel this motion is in the direction of discouraging small business startups and entrepreneurship and will reduce accessibility of newcomers who are in pursuit of ownership of their own websites or creating and contributing to the internet. I do not see what benefit increasing the cost of maitining .com domains does for anyone but ICANN. This is a self dealing situation where globally small businesses are being hurt by an unelected, unsupervised organization that simply sucks money out of our pockets. I am 100% opposed any increases in domain maintenance fees. Andrew Martines

Dear ICANN leaders, I'm writing as a board member of five small companies, and as an internet industry participant of close to thirty (30) years. Will you please consider my and these companies' opposition to proposed rate increases for domain registrations. As you already know, these proposed changes will undoubtedly have significant impact on the Internet for years to come. We are concerned that, thus far, only ICANN and Verisign have participated in a rate-increase decision. This sort of underhanded thievery, if it is not, SHOULD be against antitrust laws. I will do everything within my power to inform all of my contacts and every federal, state and local government official I am able to contact.
