I am a registrant of a .com domain name and stand against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price. Increasing .COM domain prices will simply stifle and suppress growth in the internet for no good reason. It's one of the dumbest proposals that I have heard. The price should be set to cover necessary costs, and only truly necessary costs, rather than attempt to profit from Verisign's monopoly position. I am a registrant of a .com domain name. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. Hi, I’m a small business owner, and when I say small, I mean SMALL! If prices go up on these domain names then I’m toast and I can simply say goodby to my spot in the internet at this point. I don’t own my e-commerce business for myself, it’s a platform for my father and my sister to sell their sculptures and earthenware ceramics. Is MONEY really more important to you than MILLIONS OF PEOPLE?? Living breathing working people. Verisign doesn’t own you, they may sponsor you a great deal, but they don’t own you. You can do better than this. There must be another option that has a better load for all parties involved, and that includes the consumers. Small pricing changes are acceptable, normal even. But the price increases that this would incur in the next year and especially within the next 6-10 years would be outlandish. I am appalled by ICANN's recent decision as a result of which Verisign can increase the wholesale price to registrars for .COM domains every year for 8 out of the next 10 years, resulting in .COM wholesale domain price growing possibly by more than 70% over and above current prices over the next decade. The internet is meant to be accessible to All. These decisions will reverse this, This must not not happen. The internet Must continue to remain vibrant, interactive and free. Teena Gill New Delhi

As a small business owner I am sure my voice will not be heard BUT I think its a bit crazy that you are going to allow a company that owns 75% of the registrar pricing will complete with all domain registrars… Please for the love of god don’t be dicks. Just do the right thing.

Hi ICANN, I don't understand why you have to be shady and make business deals behind closed doors, without even as much as a heads up to your customers? What kind of business is that? These new price increases to .Com domains are ridiculous and will make them less accessible and more expensive for to users/customers. I would like to get some clarity on how you will spend this $20 million over the next 5 years. I want to know that the money will be properly spent on domain infrastructure.
