Hello, I would like to voice my opposition to Proposed Amendment 3. I can't afford to pay exorbitant prices for my domains each year - I can barely afford them as is. I've already been forced to let several of my domains expire. Please, think of the struggling entrepreneurs like me who can't afford this - you'll be taking away their business fronts. Hi, We think this is madness and we do not like the decision of increasing the cost for .com domain. This will be doing a big damage to all the small business, entrepreneurs and young guys who want to explore intternet. Please re consider this. Thank you.

Hello, I am strongly against Proposed Amendment 3. The price increases for .COM domains are excessive, especially because they can perpetually increase on a 6 year cycle. A corporation might have no problem paying registration and renewal fees, or could afford to lock-in their wholesale price for 10 years, but a small business owner will rarely have that luxury. It is also concerning that Verisign will give $20 million dollars to ICANN with little explanation of how the money will be spent, and no mention of any regulatory oversight to ensure the funds are not mishandled. In closing, Proposed Amendment 3 does not benefit nor protect the public -- only the organizations directly involved in the proposal. It should not be adopted. Sincerely, Gwen Mullinix

I am a registrant of a .com domain name. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price. Honestly I am so frustrated with your this movement and I hope you reconsider about your decision and at least the decision should be reasonable for domain owners and also possible owners. As the original registrant of a .com domain name for a non-profit organization, I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. Verisign is the manager of the .COM Registry and has no business dictating the prices of domain names. I oppose the price hike. These changes will have significant impact on the Internet for years to come, and only ICANN and Verisign have participated in this decision. Alongside these contract changes, *Verisign agreed to pay ICANN an additional $20 million dollars over five years to support* ICANN's domain name system initiatives, without any clarity about how ICANN will spend the money, or who will ensure that the funds are properly spent on domain infrastructure. Last month, ICANN, the organization that oversees domain names, announced significant changes to the contract it has with Verisign, Inc. who operate the .COM top-level-domain (TLD). ICANN made these changes in secret, without consulting or incorporating feedback from the ICANN community or Internet users. Although ICANN has a history of making similar deals behind closed doors, and also of ignoring unified opposition against such action, we are focused on leading the fight against price increases that will harm our customers (and the Internet as a whole). Increase of any price should be tagged to global inflation rate and not decided by Verisign alone for every period of gap. What if Verisign decide to eventually charge $1000 per .com domain. if costs gets higher, domain parking and black market selling will be more rampant. internet community will suffer
