I am a registrant of several .com domain names. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest. Hello! I would like you to know that I'm against the proposed price increase to .com domains. It'll only benefit Verisign that already has a monopoly over the .com, the most popular TLD, isn't that enough already? And the ICANN is supposed to serve the public interest, not private companies! You already lifted the price cap on the .org, it's enough mistakes. That being said, I wish you'll take my opinion in consideration. Regards, Baptiste Lizot

Hi, I am a domainer and strongly against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices, and they have continually maipulated this process for their own benefit. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price. I believe the current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. This just seems like a cosy lock-in deal between Verisign and ICANN, struck behind closed doors. In no conceivable sense is it in the interests of consumers. Please reconsider.

Hola El servicio de registro .com que Verisign ha capturado no es un mercado competitivo. Si fuera competitivo, entonces podría elegir un proveedor diferente que me gustó más, incluso me costó más. Esa no es una opción si quiero usar un dominio .com. Verisign no obtuvo el control del registro .com por ningún motivo debería permitirles ordeñarlo por más dinero por dominio. Dado que el la cantidad de dominios sigue aumentando y los costos para ejecutar un registro continúan abajo (a menos que las personas involucradas no sean competentes) no hay razón aparte de la codicia para que ellos incluso pidan más dinero. To: ICANN With all due respect, I am a junior web developer with two domain names that I currently operate. The price increases will be detrimental to my economic situation as I am not receiving enough total revenue to justify paying domain name registration fees, web hosting fees, etc. I am respectfully requesting that ICANN be considerate of struggling web developer such as myself when deciding to implement the fee increases.
