Hello, Because *COM domains make up significant of all registered domain names* online and taking into account that, in reality, any company which has been using a domain for a prolonged period is, in fact, a hostage of its domain name. It leads to the fact that any company will be forced to pay any price to stay in business. There are significant concerns for individual users, who rely on the COM domain names as well. Increasing their price might make using COM domain infeasible for individuals. For example, I do rely on a COM domain, it is a significant part of my Internet identity, I believe that this is the case for the other personal site owners as well. ** *Increasing prices on COM domain might change the face of the Internet in a bad way.* Please, reconsider your last decisions. All the facts regarding the issue, when put together, make the ICANN look like a supporter of a monopoly of Verisign, while the received 20 million dollars look like a bribe. I certainly do not want to see ICANN this way but have no other choice. Regards, Artem

I am not sure why or even how you think it is remotely ethical to impose 70% increases on .com registration over the next 10 years. Moany of these names are tied to micro and small businesses around the world who rely on their digital presence to put food on their families table, clothes on their backs, and roofs over their heads. From what I have seen so far, this impending increase is purely a money grab composed behind closed doors with the proceeds going to the lucky few in the privileged room. This kind of behavior will inevitably force the hands of governments to reach in and start meddling in what has to this point, the last frontier of free enterprise. Please don't ruin this for the millions of small business owners around the world. Be transparent and upfront with your intentions and/or negate the proposed rate increases altogether. I am a registrant of a .com domain name. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price. The whole sale price of domain names should be voted upon each year. There is no guarantee where the money from verisign is going and no one responsible for ensuring it goes to infrastructure

Hello! I'm a nerd that likes to buy silly domian names and build hobby websites. Please do not allow ICANN/Verisign to increase .com prices! Buying .com domains should be available to everyone, not just the privilege of a wealthy few. -Jacob

To ICANN owners and management, The agreement with ICANN and Verisign appears to be unfair to consumers but profitable for both ICANN and Verisign. The 7% annual price increases over 10 years can compound to a 100% price increase in .com domain names, which is exorbitant. Please reconsider this amendment. To whom it may concern, I would like to lodge my opposition to Amendment 3 and the eventual price increase to .com TLDs. Some things in life, no matter how they begin, end up transcending their origins. The .com domain names were/are the gateway to millions of ideas that simply require a couple of bucks a year to realize. No other TLD comes close in value. I understand that those in charge of the pricing feel as if they are entitled to a cut of that value. It's a simple business proposition and will result in who knows how much additional revenue. I, however, think it would be a mistake to choose revenue over raising the barrier to entry for future creators. I was once a kid who built websites before the internet became the behemoth it is today. Back then, for $10/year I could goof around and build something on a whim. I didn't have any money back then, yet this was the one space I could go up against anybody and compete. I hate to envision a world where a kid needs, say $50/year, to dabble with an idea. I know it won't be $50/year tomorrow, but slippery slopes are slippery. I hope this amendment is reconsidered. --- Matt Haliski mhaliski(a)gmail.com
