Hello, I would like to voice my opposition to Proposed Amendment 3. I believe that the global DNS registration system should be run primarily as a public concern. The only entities that stand to benefit from the proposed arrangement are Verisign itself, at the expense of the public. These price hikes will impact the millions of small, independent businesses and developers that rely on the system as is to make their livelihood. Further, this could prove yet another point of pressure that convinces a small business to make their online presence exclusively in the Facebook walled garden and eschew the web itself. The web, and global DNS, were envisioned to be run for the public good, and they SHOULD be run for the public good. To whom it may concern. The .com domain is a central part of the internet and should remain accessible for anyone to use, no matter what their socio-economic status is. With this price increase you run the risk of increasing the wealth disparity and inequality around the world. .com should therefore remain at a low and accessible price for everyone. As a small software development company I purchase domain names based on new product ideas. Increasing the cost of .com domains will make it even more difficult to maintain our domain portfolio. This increasing cost will pose an additional hurdle to all startups and innovation ideas. Affecting personal sites as well. -Amy

Without clearly specifying what exactly would be done, the price increase is not acceptable. Besides, Verisign, there should be other organisations to enhance competition. There must not be a monopoly in USA.
