I am a .com registrant. I am strongly opposed the proposed price increase to .COM domains. Verisign a profit driven corporation, plagued with controversy is the only entity that would benefit from the price increase. The current price is already far more than justified. In order for the world (which includes the poor) to be innovative, we need reasonably priced domain registrations. -- Matt Fitzwater

I am a registrant of a .com domain name and I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest. Do not handover the rights to Verisign. I hope this email is taken into consideration. Varun Amsterdam, Netherlands

Thi is not people/customer centric in any way. Please stop this amendment that ultimately leads to an increase in the prices that will be paid by us the customers. Verisign has already made so much money and if they want to be generous with 20million, they can and do not need us the customers to pay for that too. That is just selfish. That is not being generous or thinking about us. It is very greedy and unfair.

Dear ICANN, It’s very short-sighted to raise prices of the .com domains and we strongly disagree with this move. As a customer with so many domains across many registers, we have to strongly agree with NameCheap.com <http://namecheap.com/> and we support the position NameCheap.com <http://namecheap.com/> has taken, higher prices affects everyone and especially people that less well off and poor, if anything we say reduce the price of the .com and provide more support and margins for domain registers so that they have room to offer discounts to clients. Higher prices will have a strong and significant impact on the growth of the .com domains and make it less affordable to the end-user. I am a domainer (I invest in domain names as a business). I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price.
