Hi, I don't think it is neither logic or fair to increase the prices of the.Com domains, while the histing companies are charging a small fortune for hosting the websites. This decision will affect millions of domain holders around the world, please consider not to proceed. Thank you Haggag Hussein

I'm having a hard time to justify the pricing of domains as they are, let alone accept a potential jump in prices. The only thing such a measure will achieve is force our company to buy and maintain less domains.

To whom it may concern, I remember buying a subdomain from someone when I was 13 years old for $20 with a check to a po box, because a domain name registration was $150. Shortly after, we democratized domains and made them affordable for people trying to start businesses and hobbies online. Ever since then, I have been making a living online and helping other companies and individuals from mom and pops to fortune 500's realize their vision. We should be looking at removing barriers to entry, not adding them. This price increase is unjustified and is happening too soon after the .org arrangement. We should be using the .org arrangement as a test ground and see what happens over the next 5 years. We should learn from it - was it a good deal? Did it result in unjustified price hikes? Was spending justified and transparent? Instead it seems that instead of reviewing that model, ICANN would rather jump the gun and provide un-tethered control to a third party company that is motivated by profits. We all know how the internet is taking the center stage as the day goes by and more people, companies and organizations are embracing it as well as facing much more competitions. As much as the internet has become more important and accessible to the public. The challenges have equally increased most especially to the start ups and individuals who are looking to make a living from the internet with each day needing so many factors to succeed which equally consume lots of resources. With that said, I think that the new increase is totally unfair to the end consumer and must have been done without due consideration and should please be abolished for the interest of everyone's growth. I plead with ICANN and everyone involved to have a re-think as the price increase is absolutely unacceptable. Thank you. Best regards, Vincent.

You guys really lost it when you chose to privatise the web. The web has always been better open source. Always self-policed and grew into a beautiful community of ideas - where identity was irrelevant. We do not need governments or Telecommunications companies dictating to us how we use our computers or censoring content through lobbying. To whom it may concern: I'm concerned about the deal ICANN has made with Verisign and how it will impact us, the end users. Specifically in terms of increasing prices and eliminating healthy competition. It sounds like ICANN is getting a large investment and for it Verisign is getting a lot of new benefits. Is it possible to share more details on the strategy how the funds will be used and the strategy going forward? How will you protect the end user that prices will not sky rocket in a few years?
