The 'Alignment with Amendment 35 of the Cooperative Agreement' is a price increase which, for small websites, is just another obstacle for staying online. Every small cost quickly adds up for us with small webpages especially when costs are paid in dollars and the local currency is much weaker. We all want what's best for the Internet and certainly everybody should have access. Affordable prices are a part of it. Please, do reconsider all the consequences of raising prices.

Dear Sir/Madam, I am a registrant of a .com domain name and I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. Verisign does not need more money to run the .com domain. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest. You need to stop raising the pricess of domain names. We already have a problem with small business trying to suceed in a market that is getting more competitive with big corporations and search engines like google giving them the best rankings. Even if you have great SEO it's still not easy. So raising the prices of domain names doesn't help any. Peace, I am an independent entrepreneur with numerous platforms including blogs, t-shirts, podcasts and spiritually intuitive consultations. Not all of my platforms require a full out website, however, to add a more professional feel to my businesses, I often purchase domain names to create custom email addresses for each business. This price increase being considered will drastically affect my yearly overhead as well as potential for building more businesses. I appreciate the way I currently offer all of my services at reasonable rates so that I can reach and help more people in need of what I have to offer. Keep the prices low and the number of domain purchases will continue to grow as entrepreneurs globally create new avenues for their business. *By increasing .com pricing, you will essentially be shutting out the "little guy" and making the internet just like the rest of the world .. a privileged elitists infrastructure in which those in power, remain in power. Hi, I am a registrant of several .com domain names. All for personal use, I do not resell. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains because this will affect their availability and access to the average user. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest and unfortunately it's actions in regards to this matter show that this couldn't be further from the truth. Stella Syrimi
