Dear ICANN, I am writing to vehemently oppose the proposed changes you want to make to the .COM Registry Agreement, as these are unfair and will have a lot of negative knock-on effects for businesses and non-profit organisations. For example, we work with many start-ups where big budgets for their web presence are not available and any major price increases will for sure affect whether they take a website or just concentrate on a social media presence, which more and more small businesses are already doing. The proposed increases will also directly affect our business and many others in the advertising & marketing agency sector from a negative profit point of view. I respectfully request that you reconsider your decision for these large increases and just keep them in line with inflation, which still helps with your own profit situation while also ensuring the registration of new domains will continue. I strongly disapprove what you guys at ICANN and Verisign are doing behind our back. I demand to keep Internet public and the .com prices as they were. Increasing those prices will narrow the FREE aspect of the internet where every human being can participate in. Make Internet as is of even more broadly accessible. NOT THE OPPOSITE! I've been a bonafide user of the .COM domain name extension and I love it whenever I use it for either my personal projects and for client's. I write to disagree with the current amendment that the ICANN organization is about to make to affect the price of the of .COM for the next coming decades, probably. I love the services that ICANN organization has offered and still offering over the years but then, increasing the price at the edge of internet breakthrough at the beginning of a new decade is just something that sounds uncalled for. In my opinion, I suggest that the price remains the same, and then give room for more internet users and developers. Sincerely, Leonard Ojojo

The decision planning to increase charges will impact small businesses the worst. This has been done unilaterally without any consultation about the consequences to small businesses, as well as the level of increases themselves which are very significantly high, in some cases potentially up to a whopping 70%! This is hardly seen in any other industry. PLEASE reconsider and revise these increases in charges which will hit us small business the worst, especially those of us who hold several domains. Dear Madam/Sir, We are a small 5-person company operating a service operation over the internet. The Risk of Potential increase in the annual fee for .COM domains is worrying us a lot. World economy is so volatile that any additional costs threatens shortage of cash flow and increase risks if forcing potential closure of our operations. Please be considerate and sensitive to the needs of SME surviving on very slim margins.

I have registered some .com domains. And I am against the proposed price increase in .com domain. No one other than Verisign interested in increase of the prices. Verisignn is your manager of .com Registry but it has no business dictating the price.

Hello, In line with proposed price increase, my opinion is it will reduce uptake of new . com domains Price is one of factors contributing to acquisition of the .com domain You may use statistics from .org registry since they did a price change for better evaluation. Regards, Ann

A rose of that percentage every year is totally unjustifiable. Inflation is no way near that number and without any extenuating circumstances it is simply not justified. Regards, Matthew Gent
