Hi I'm just a guy with a domain who has had it since back when the internet was barely a thing. I'm upset that the body governing domains has made such a corrupt decision to take Verisign money in favour of pushing out the individuals from the .com market. Do the right thing, cancel this deal Red Morris

there should be a process for this which include voice of every effecting parties, Raising prices at a regular rate will take registrations out of the hands of ordinary people I totally oppose to the raising of .com prices. I am a registrant of multiple .com domain names. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices. The current rates are already far more than justified. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry - it has no business dictating the price. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest. Our business is a .com registrant and we manage a number of .com domains on behalf of our clients, many of whom are new start-up companies. The public has a vested interest in reasonably priced domain registrations to allow freedom of speech and innovation on the internet, and to allow individuals and small businesses to maintain a presence on the internet. Monopolies stifle freedom and innovation. Allowing Verisign to have such a large control is worrying. Verisign should not be able to dictate the price. We believe ICANN should govern the domain name system in the public interest, not in the interest of big business only interested in profit. Hello ICANN I fear that this change would increase prices in an uncontrolled way. I would very much like to learn how this decision was made and to what purpose the Added funds are going to be used. I strongly oppose the amendment and the new proposed deal with commercial entities managing the .com domains. This is not acceptable to make such a far reaching decisions behind closed doors without prior consultation with the community at large.
