I strongly oppose to the increment of .com prices. It makes absolutely no sense. Tech is for all, and not for a selected few! If anything, technology costs are decreasing.

The problem is, most people will choose the nearest non dot com available site address. If prices are set to increase by up to 70%, there needs to be a corresponding value associated with that, a lifetime lock-in available for current addresses, or buy 2 get 1 free. I don’t increase my products and services by 70% because my clients and customers have a choice, with ICANN, we don’t. It is monopolistic activity that should be lobbied against. Sent from my iPad

Verisign and ICANN, I am not surprised at your decision because that is what cynical, overly-rich billionaires do, take even more money so that their umpteenth generation will be ensured to have a lavish life. It goes to show how incredibly corrupt human nature is. And the sad thing is that your kind will be the only ones remaining alive, once your kind drives humanity to extinction. Each time something like this happens, I pray for a comet erasing us all. Verisgn and ICANN C-suit bastards, I honestly hope that you all get the most aggressive form of cancer that no money in the world can cure nor reduce the pain from. That is what your kind deserves. I have multiple domains and this will affect me and many people. Especially those of us that own a dozen of Domains. This mean you will lose a lot more money that what you will earn with the price increase. Personally I own around 12 domains and after this going to have to rid on 9 of them and stay with 2-3 only. This will seriously affect small business owners and decrease your market dramatically since many people will not be willing to pay multiple domain names.

No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest.

I am a registrant of a .com domain name. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest. Nick B

Hi I feel extremely offended by the changes in costs. Usually there is a reason for increasing product costs, e.g. increased costs, better service / product. As of now it seems costs haven't been increasing and I don't see anything new that we as customers will receive with this money. Hello, This sounds like its a done deal and these are the formalities that we're doing now. I don't agree the way you do it, public needs more time to understand what's going on. What exactly is going to be done with the funds from Verisign? Does icann really need these funds? Or are we all just overpaying and guaranteeing icann staff's and future unnecessary recruitments' salaries? Why wouldnt' you increase icann charge 2 cents more from all registrations?
