Dear ICANN community, Usually, TLDs are about businesses and related co-operate activities and such. In my experience, not everything on TLDs are about businesses, where as there might be educational purposes, researches, non-profit projects and etc.. Also it’s time to mention about small start-up businesses in this era. A lot of improvements and developments have been took place with “small start-ups” that will have a huge impact on the local communities up to every human on earth who have an electronic devices. Those small start-ups usually starts “small”. I’m also an entrepreneur with such ideas and I’m currently using one of the .com TLDs. So, in my experience, managing a TLD was a huge deal for me (not to mention managing emails, dns, etc..) but later on this might get harder with each day. So, this decision to increase price for .com domains is unfair with my point of view as an entrepreneur since, it highly limits the “small start-up” community and you are doing a harm for the community. Also with the contract changes, Verisign agreed to pay ICANN an additional $20 million dollars over five years to support ICANN’s initiatives regarding the security and stability of the domain name system. There is no explanation why Verisign did this, how ICANN will spend the money, or who will ensure that the funds are properly spent. So, please re-consider to decrease prices as soon as possible or give valid reasons for the increases. Thank you!

There is a lot of gall here to say that it is in the public interest to raise the prices of dot coms. It is in the interest of domain hoarders, who are thieves of business opportunity, parasites on legitimate public interest. It is not in any way in the public interest. As a person trying to do business online, like everyone else, this hurts us badly and you will pay for trying to do this. SO HELL NO, you will NOT increase the dot.com prices with public consent. And we will take this to our rep, we will take it up legally, and begin to crack down on your private little fiefdom. You operate with no legitimacy. Hi, I am very surprised to come to know from my domain registrar (namecheap.com) that you are increasing charges of domain name registration. Why? It should be stopped, instead of reducing charges to make internet accessible for everyone you are increasing charges. Hello, I came across an article concerning the drastic decision iccan is making in regards to increase prices to .com domains. My plea is, some of us who own such domains, don't earn much from our business and that means we will lose our business and be rendered jobless. As that is the only source of our income. Also that will mean your sales will decrease since majority of buyers are low income earners. So, I would strongly object your drastic decision since is inconsiderate. Thank you

To Whom it May Concern, I oppose the ’Proposed Amendment 3 to the .COM Registry Agreement’. Last month, ICANN, announced significant changes to the contract it has with Verisign, Inc., without consulting or incorporating feedback from the ICANN community or Internet users. This secret deal will lead to increases that will harm the Internet as a whole. According to this new agreement, Verisign will be allowed to increase the wholesale price to registrars for .COM domains every year for 8 out of the next 10 years, and the increases don’t stop there. This will mean that .COM wholesale domain prices can grow by more than 70% over and above current prices over the next decade. The contract also allows for other price increases, which could drive prices up further, ultimately making .COM domains less accessible and more expensive for everybody. This is a sweetheart deal for ICANN. Alongside these contract changes, Verisign agreed to pay ICANN an additional $20 million over five years to support ICANN's domain name system initiatives, without any clarity about how ICANN will spend the money, or who will ensure that the funds are properly spent on domain infrastructure. These changes will have significant impact on the Internet for years to come, and only ICANN and Verisign have participated in this decision. The Internet is a publicly used network that needs to be made affordable to all users, and this deal will harm Internet users and will only benefit ICANN. Hi, I came to know about this new amendment via Namecheap's newsletter. Tried giving the feedback via the online form in your website, but it doesn't seem to be working when clicking the button. That's why am sending this as an email Kindly do not impose any amendments that would increase the price of the dot COM domains. And I won't even know about this if namecheap hasn't send this is in their newsletter. There was no news or anything. And the recent license hike of cPanel has already affected people like me where the hosting fees has went high drastically.
