Once again, you’re making back-room deals to benefit corporate interests over the needs of all internet users. I am OPPOSED to the removal of price controls. To whom it may concern I was shocked to hear that the proposed amendments to the .com Registry Agreement were discussed only between ICANN and Verisign. This lack of consultation smacks of corruption and is clearly not in the best interests of internet users. Please review any need to go ahead with such a strange and unfair process without involving a much greater number of stakeholders. Yours sincerely Kylie Wallace

I use the Internet but I am not a .com registrant. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest. FIg Lee Los Angeles

Please do not approve Amendment 3 allowing an increase of 24% over the last 4 years of each 6 year period. Though I understand increasing costs of services, there is no reason for that increase to be greater than the rate of inflation. That would be at most an increase of 3.5% over the last 4 years. Please do not do this. Creators and small businesses need the ability to access fair price domains for increased innovation. Thank you for your consideration.

This is unacceptable and I will have to shut down all my personal websites as well as my small business site of these increases go through as it is already a financial burden for anyone below the middle class who can’t even afford to list their wares on Etsy.

As I have received information from my mail hosting service provider, I am particularly disappointed at this action between ICANN and Verisign and I find it an unethical business practice. I am based in Africa and financial resources in this part of the world is hard to come by and internet access and other activities linked to the internet will be impacted greatly. I do not want to pay more than I am currently paying.. Hello, I'm writing to discourage adopting Amendment 3. The ability to register tlds at a reasonable price is essential for keeping the internet a level playing field. If the dot com tld eventually becomes prohibitively expensive for individuals, we will witness even more corporate consolidation of power. Further, the amendment was drawn up without input from registrars. While the deal with Verisign might seem lucrative for your organization, it would ultimately be detrimental for the internet at large. I oppose the approval of increased prices for Verisign who would be allowed to increase the wholesale price to registrars for .COM domains every year for 8 out of the next 10 years, and the increases don’t stop there. This will mean that* .COM wholesale domain prices can grow by more than 70% over and above current prices over the next decade*. The contract also allows for other price increases, which could drive prices up further, ultimately making .COM domains less accessible and more expensive for everybody. Leslie Estes

To whom it may concern, I oppose amendment #3, which will substantially increase the cost of /.com/ domains in favor of an organization that doesn't contribute to the Internet community in any significant way. Selling out to Verisign behind closed doors? Again? Have some self-respect, ICANN. How can you be so cheap/sissy? Your kids must be proud of you...
