Dear Sir/Madame. I just read about the agreement between Verisgn and ICANN to increase the price of the .com domain name extension, and wish to appeal to you not to do this. There are very many small e-commerce businesses already struggling to be profitable in our business endeavors. Increasing the price of the .com domain name extension will make it even more difficult for us to remain profitable. It is already difficult enough to even find a good .com domain that fits a company’s branding. This price increase will further hurt all, except large companies that have plenty of cash on hand at any given time. Is this the plan? To force all small businesses out of the market so that only the big, rich popular brands can take part in gaining profits through internet business? Best regards. Tony S. I am writing to express my opposition to .com domain price increases. Most importantly, I believe these types of decisions should be made in the full light of day, not in secret meetings establishing nebulous future contract parameters.

Dear ICANN, DON’T DO IT! Proposed Amendment 3 to the .COM registry agreement suffers from a horrible lack of transparency and accountability, and should not have been negotiated by ICANN and Verisign without input from the ICANN community. I run a small business that would be seriously and adversely impacted by the new amendment, and so on behalf of Internet users and small business owners everywhere, I urge you NOT to finalize these changes. Don't raise the prices. You may not be able to stop decentralization of the internet, but your move is speeding up efforts to eliminate the need for a centralized system in the first place. It won't take much to eliminate the need as with just a few major parties on board good-bye domain names.

Hello, I own several .com's and I'm just an individual. The internet is one of the best things for increasing human flourishing in recent memory and increasing the price of the main TLD domain names will stifle innovation and make it harder for individuals to be creative with one of our great achievements. Are you kidding me. Don't you remember when they were the only game in town for domain names and gouged everyone at every opportunity to do dirty underhanded tricks to maintain a monopoly. The list is almost too long to write out and yet here you are giving the foxes control of the chicken coop again. This is just another example of what unbridled greed can accomplish when there are folks who are vulnerable to being bribed, i.e. ICANN. All this is going to do is make people who are already rich beyond understanding richer at the expense of anyone else to has a web site.
