Hello, I am writing to share my disapproval of this amendment. The .COM domain is the most trusted on the web and is essential for individual, startups and small business to thrive. If you allow prices to be increased then the availability and ease of use of a .COM domain will be taken away. In addition there is little technical reasons for price increases as the cost of it is decreasing over time. Allow for price increases would be a huge blow to anyone trying to break into the online space and stifle potential innovation. As the organization in control of these domain names I urge you to please consider the impact this will have on the individual rather than larger corporations. We rely on you to protect us from those that can outspend us and not act in the best interest of the community. Thank you, Tristan Jesse

I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest.

Hello ICANN, It disturbing to know your unfair practices for making profit by exploiting the users of .com. Be more transparent in what you are doing. As far as I am concerned, I don’t think .com price needs to be increased. Stop your nonsense decisions and rollback. I would rather by other domain than .com if the price is increased. Thank You. I recently read about a price increase that will take place over the next several years for registration/renewal of .com domain names. This is very alarming to me, as a small business owner who works out of my home, with several .com domains. My business expenses are already a significant tax on my revenue and I am concerned about this change. There is little to no information about what this increase is for and what will be done with the funds collected. Making a blanket increase regardless of the size of the business or the revenue is unfair. It makes the internet an exclusive business opportunity for big companies. Couldn't you use some sliding scale that protects small businesses? Transparency calls for this basic service to explain what is going on to all involved. I disagree with increasing prices. This feels like an unfair tax on domains, and people will not have any say in what their money goes towards. .COM domains are a huge portion of domains and I don't want revenue from their price increase to go into private hands. These domains should stay inexpensive and accessible for everyone. It is the right thing to do in the spirit of the internet as the great equalizer of opportunity. Regards, Stephanie
