I acknowledge that there needs to be a proper process for adjusting .com prices. However, 7 percent in each of the final four years of each six-year period is far too high. It sets a dangerous precedent for rapidly increasing costs. Downstream impacts will include a reduction in individuals buying .com domains, negative effects on entrepreneurship, and an ultimate devalue of the internet. Please reconsider this proposal. I totally oppose to the raising of .com prices. Technology costs are decreasing and .COM incresing? It makes absolutely no sense. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest. The web, and global DNS, were envisioned to be run for the public good, and they SHOULD be run for the public good. Deals such as this are an abdication of that mandate; short sighted profit chasing at the expense of all else. Please do not adopt this proposal. Juan Ortiz

Hello, When people said " Print is dead" newspapers and magazines did not increase ad placement price hence being detrimental to their own existence. With the advent apps, domains in general became less attractive, increasing domain registration price could make potential domain buyers to shy away and come up with apps with good recall value without necessarily owning a domain . It is a fact that .com has a place of its own but why kill hen that laid the eggs. Thanks, Charlie M.
