Keep the internet accessible for everyone. Don’t hike up prices on domain names. The internet should be open and free for all people around the world to be able to afford.

I completely disagree with this change, as it is a hindrance yet again from an authority that is only motivated by profits. The internet by default needs to be neutral, and there are many people who register these domains to incubate business ideas or personal/creative projects. I myself currently own about 12 domains but only 3 are being worked on. Hiking the price up for ANY of these domains will become very costly and ruin future plans for the domains. Icann and VeriSign have NOT asked for permission to go ahead and do this, and the majority of people I know will not be happy to be gouged in yet another area of their lives. Stop this madness.

I have just read about the concern of my registar about new price increase possibilities, im so much against it, this about the all people around the world, some of them barley have the money to renew the domains the own. same for me. im totally against this possibility of price increase of .com domains! and im sure if it reached to 100% of the people who own .com domain all of them be against it! keep it simple like the way it is now!

I am contacting you to voice my deep concerns related to your plans to allow Verisign to significantly increase the cost for .com domains over the next 10 years. These authorized cost increases are not warranted or justified and appear to simply be a money grab by Verisign and authorized by ICANN in exchange for a large payment from Verisign. I would hope that ICANN and Verisign would revisit this agreement in the interest of fairness and openness on the internet platform.

It is totally unacceptable for icann to go behind the backs of customers and in private make a deal that affects everyone. It deserves at least public debate and negotiations. I as a small business owner cant afford hefty price increases when i am just starting out and have to income to pay these increases. The domain name system should be considered as part of our social commons. Allowing a for-profit company like Verisign to strangle small businesses is unconscionable. ICANN stands to receive $12M from this transaction. For what? To "support ICANN's initiatives" for domain name security and stability? What does that mean? How am I, as a domain owner, going to benefit from these price increases? Unclear and unknown. I suspect I will not benefit at all for the increasing fees that will be extorted from me. This deal stifles competition. It smells of corporate raiders seeking higher rents. ICANN should protect internet users and content providers, not offer them up as a sacrifice to corporate greed. Just say no to corporate greed. If the current pricing structure does not suit Verisign's profit goals, find an administrator who can manage registrars within the current pricing structure. This change is anti-consumer. The web is for everyone and is increasingly necessary for getting work, spreading information, and organizing. It needs to remain as accessible as possible.
