I think before this amendment can be accepted we should get some clarity on how ICANN will spend the money. I think we also need to get some sort of third party or someone to make sure that ICANN spends the funds properly on infrastructure. Some oversight from an independent third party with something that affects so many people I think is very important. I think that ICANN making these changes without consulting or incorporating feedback from the ICANN community or internet users should be reevaluated for future deals that ICANN does. Generally I think that transparency is beneficial for all involved. Thanks.

I am concerned with the unilateral decision taken by ICANN and Verisign to increase domain prices which, in my opinion, will distort the very nature of the internet by discriminating against the small business owner and user in of powerful corporations. The diversity of the internet is at stake by keeping domains accessible to everyone. Internet is not just about milking as much money as you can but trying to create a universal record of human endeavour with lots of domains not registering any financial gain. ICANN is supposed to look out for the public interest not reach decisions in meetings with lobbies without including other stakeholders.Please do the right thing and keep the internet accessible to everyone for the sake of everyoneMario Borg the Sent from Yahoo Mail on Android

Dear Management, I have gone through the aforementioned subject matter with a painstaking effort. Being a blogger who currently registered with Namecheap, it would be outrageous to impose such 70% benchmark on annual renewal cum registration of blogs. This proposed initiative will two effects: 1) The high rate of registration fee for domain names and the likes would scare prospects away; and 2) There is possibility of most current bloggers developing cold feet in the business and, ultimately, pulling out. I just learned that ICAAN has secretly negotiated with Verisign a deal that would allow them to increase .com registration fees each year for the next right years. This deal would only benefit Verisign and, of course ICAAN to the tune of up to fifteen million dollars. Consumers of .com domains, most of whom are small businesses, including startups and very small operators from overseas, would bear the brunt of this sweetheart deal for you and Verisign. I urge you in the strongest terms possible to reconsider moving forward with this deal, and provide a legitimate chance for a true public discussion before deciding the way, if any, forward. Costs go up over time and revenues must rise to cover them or a business will go under. But most businesses have to deal with an open market and make the pricing decisions based on what the market will bear. With this amendment, ICANN effectively wields its monopoly power to demand more money with no opportunity for the market to respond. This is an unfair practice and must be stopped. If ICANN needs to raise revenues, let them deal with their customers in an open an fair fashion rather than simply demanding the price they want.

To Whom It May Concern: Raising the .COM fees with the recent deal with Versign is unethical and per usual promotes the growth of the 1% and the demise of the 99% of us who try to make a living with our small businesses. I feel that I've been hold hostage in this. Unless I pay higher prices for my domain, I dont have one. I chose name cheap for a reason to get a domain cheap and easy to use. I dont think I should pay a small fortune to have a domain,its just not right. Thank you Blair W

You're trying to dominate the market and possibly be your own domain registrar, leaving you the options to set prices against healthy competition? And you hid the information from the public? How dare you. The larger companies behind preventing this effort are not happy with you, now quit trying to silence us!
