I don’t understand why ICANN can be in charge of .com domain names where they can keep increasing prices when they can’t do the job of regulating the domain names ? I have told ICANN numerous times about criminal .com websites. [Comments-com-amendment-3-03jan20] Price increases can only stifle internet growth

To whom it may concern, Reading over Amendment 3, it has become evident that its sole purpose is to make more money. With the internet being an absolute necessity for first world living in this day and age, increasing prices does nothing but line corporate pockets with more money and limiting access to new and innovative ideas and messages. Amendment 3 is a tax on freedom. The internet belongs to the world now. Any attempt to increase pricing and limit people’s ability to create new content and share new ideas in any way is an affront on the human race. I vehemently disagree with this amendment and hope that you can see fit to continue freezing .COM pricing into the foreseeable future. At the very LEAST, you should be including registrars in the conversation. If I have misread this amendment and it in fact does NOT allow for .COM pricing to be increased, I apologize and retract this comment. Thank you, Rick Vale

I am a registrant of a .com domain name. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest.

My first domain I ever acquired for my business was in 2001, and I still have it today. It helps single my profession out from the sea of individuals on social media. So it has a huge impact on my day to day and always has. I’ve recently added 2 domains to my small business this past year, Updated my website for my business from the ground up and I hope that I get to keep all of the domains in the future. I would hate to have to choose which one I would keep while dropping the others to leave open for competitors. I suppose I could just drop all of them and do it the old fashioned way. Word of mouth always seems to be the icing on the cake for the most part. Technology is only a convenience in the end. Regards, Monte
