What is the cost justification for increasing 70% over over decade? Why is a governing body not transparent about where the $20M from Verisign is being used? ICANN needs to be responsible for the data it's using and selling to these companies.

Hello, I wanted to let you know that I do not like the idea of having .com domains rising in price un-checked. If this happens, costs will rise much more than normal and will most likely result in migrating to a cheaper domain. For an organization that trust and accountability is presumed upon, it is really disheartening to hear that you can sign deals with corporations without involving other stakeholders. You as an organization should always strive to make decisions that are for the greater good of all and not some self serving decisions. There is a saying that says,"where there is smoke there is a fire". This under-hand agreement are the smoke and for sure the financial misappropriation is the fire. please rethink this strategy

Hi there, I'm extremely disappointed by this decision. Domain names are supposed to be available to anyone that wants to start a website. By allowing freedom to increase the prices as suggested, you will close off access to a huge population. It's a real shame, totally against the purpose of the internet. I am a registrant of a .com domain name. I am against the proposed price increase to .COM domains. No one other than Verisign want increases in .COM prices. The current rate of $7.85 is already far more than justified. Verisign is merely your manager of the .COM Registry – it has no business dictating the price. ICANN is supposed to govern the domain name system in the public interest. Hello, I am writing this email in protest of your proposed price increases that are completely ungrounded in any real need for more funds and serve purely to inflate your own profits and allow for increased salaries that capitalise on a monopolistic position within a now-vital worldwide service that should be open, uninhibited by corporate influence and corruptions such as this.
