I am a .org registrant. ICANN staff should not unilaterally impose URS in legacy TLDs when that issue is precisely what is being examined by the volunteer ICANN Working Group who has been mandated to review this issue. ICANN policy making is supposed to be a ‘bottom up, multi-stakeholder model’. I believe that legacy gTLDs are fundamentally different from for-profit new gTLDs. Legacy TLDs are essentially a public trust, unlike new gTLDs which were created, bought and paid for by private interests. Registrants of legacy TLDs are entitled to price stability and predictability, and should not be subject to price increases with no maximums. Unlike new gTLDs, registrants of legacy TLDs registered their names and made their online presence on legacy TLDs on the basis that price caps would continue to exist. Unrestrained price increases on the millions of .org registrants who are not-for-profits or non-profits would be unfair to them. Unchecked price increases have the potential to result in hundreds of millions of dollars being transferred from these organizations to one non-profit, the Internet Society, with .org registrants receiving no benefit in return. ICANN should not allow one non-profit nearly unlimited access to the funds of other non-profits. ICANN appears to be entirely catering to registries by removing price caps. ICANN should stand up for the public interest and registrants!

I am a .org registrant. I believe that legacy gTLDs are fundamentally different from for-profit new gTLDs. Legacy TLDs are essentially a public trust, unlike new gTLDs which were created, bought and paid for by private interests. The old .ORG registry agreement with PIR placed a cap of 10% on annual price increases. What is wrong with an annual 10% increase? On what basis does PIR need more? A lot of the users of .org domains are nonprofits, such as ourselves. A new contract with PIR that removes price caps could impact the bottom line of non-profits like us and others. Sent from Mail for Windows 10

It's hard enough trying to run a non-profit organization without being attacked by ever increasing prices. I want to state that the regular 10% increases are enough and changing these parameters could take effect on a lot of organizations that already work so hard in these trying times to produce our donations. We are already being bombarded from too many angles and now you want to put the icing on the cake, the last straw that will break the camels back. I vote NO to the increases. I urge you not to relax the current price controls on the .org TLD. The current pricing is already too high for non-profits and advocacy groups that do not collect donations or dues, but who still need a place on the web. There is value in having those organizations under the proper .org rather than an inaccurate .com or some vanity TLD.
