[Comments-udrp-provider-16nov18] Application for New Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP) Dispute-Resolution Service Provider, 2nd UDRP Provider in North America
by Barry Penner Jan. 4, 2019

Jan. 4, 2019
We would like to respond to the submission from the ICANN Business Constituency, dated January 4, 2019. The Canadian International Internet Dispute Resolution (CIIDRC), which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the British Columbia International Arbitration Centre (BCICAC), is fully prepared to work with ICANN if in the future ICANN deems it appropriate to establish contractual arrangements with Dispute Resolution Providers. We do not believe it is necessary to postpone consideration of our application until such time as ICANN may adopt a different perspective on this issue. As we stated in an earlier response, CIIDRC is committed to working with ICANN and other DRPs to ensure the highest standards and professionalism. [Comments-udrp-provider-16nov18] In support of CIIDRC application
by Alyssa Moore Jan. 2, 2019

Jan. 2, 2019
I am writing to express the support of the Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) for the Canadian International Internet Dispute Resolution Centre (CIIDRC) application to become a UDRP service provider. CIRA manages the .CA country code top level domain. In 2002, CIRA developed the CIRA Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy ("CDRP"). This policy is based on ICANN's Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy ("UDRP"). The purpose of the CDRP is to provide a forum in which cases of bad faith registration of domain names registered in the .CA ccTLD can be dealt with relatively inexpensively and quickly. On April 14, 2002, the British Columbia International Commercial Arbitration Centre (BCICAC) became one of two service providers to manage the CDRP. BCICAC is the parent organization of the applicant, the CIIDRC. BCICAC has been successfully managing .CA domain name disputes for CIRA for the last sixteen years. During this time, CIRA has been happy with the quality of the services provided by BCICAC, and with their ability to handle proceedings in an expedited, orderly and fair manner. Alyssa Moore - Senior Policy & Advocacy Advisor Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA)
