Thanks Steve. Will applicants know this before submitting their applications? Anne Anne Aikman-Scalese GNSO Councilor NomCom Non-Voting 2022-2026 anneicanngnso@gmail.com On Thu, Sep 25, 2025 at 9:35 AM Steve Chan <steve.chan@icann.org> wrote:
Hi Anne,
I had mentioned in a previous email on this subject that as a requirement for joining the SPIRT, the charter requires agreement to a Statement of Participation (SOP), which I believe captures the disclosure requirements. The GNSO Secretariat can provide additional information as needed, but the SOP is integrated into the formal sign-up process, so no members will be allowed to show up to a SPIRT meeting unaware of these requirements. I hope this helps.
Best,
Steve

Steve,
I read the Call for Volunteers for the SPIRT. The summary information did not appear to disclose the special requirements of the SPIRT SOI which, to the best of my recollection, mandate agreement to disclosure of client interests by name.
I believe that potential applicants need to be advised of this requirement as some may not be comfortable with the SOI requirements that were approved at the Council level. In other words, we could end up with withdrawn applications if this specific SOI requirement is not disclosed.
Have I somehow missed this in the announcement of the Call for Volunteers?
Anne
