This is a problem indeed. However, we should also be aware that the reason we go all over the world is to try to reach out to and engage with as many local communities as possible. So it's really probably about getting the right tradeoff between finding the right places to go to and making sure that our destinations are realistic for our key stakeholders and contributors. It would certainly be a crime if, after so many years of service to the Council, people like Kristina and Tim were not able to make their last meeting as Councillors. I agree. The other part that is extremely frustrating is that for those of us not taking ICANN funding, it is impossible to get a hotel room. Every hotel is saying they are completely booked because of all of the rooms that are being reserved by ICANN.

But why ICANN continually chooses places that forces key stakeholders and contributors to not be able to participate to the fullest.

Can you provide an update of on the expected availability of remote participation for Senegal?
Also to all, if there is any movement toward a US or EU remote participation base, I would be up for that and doing what I could to help cover costs. I think John was asking about this earlier. Any interests?
Either way, after further consideration I think I may be attending only remotely.
