Thanks John. My only recommendation based on our discussion in Council is that in item 3, we should add a reference to the good work done by the Subsequent Procedures Working Group. Specifically, i would add at the end of Item 3 "...as well as by the Subsequent Procedures Working Group as summarized in Topic 23 of the Final Report available here: https://gnso.icann.org/sites/default/files/file/field-file-attach/final-repo... " I think we would be remiss not to mention all the work that was done in the PDP on this topic. Thank you! Thanks, John, for the additional work done on this. I think it is in line with our discussion. My suggestion (that you can take on board or not): I understand the ordering of the three points, we state as the first point, “don’t delay the next round due to this issue,” because: 1. It was first in the previous draft 2. It is the most important point: THE CLOSED GENERICS ISSUE SHOULD IN NO WAY DELAY THE NEXT TLD ROUND However, I think it flows better (from a logic standpoint) to reverse the first and second points, i.e.: 1. The facilitated discussion failed to deliver a framework, therefore the issue is passed to the Board for resolution in accordance with the SubPro Final Report and the Board/Staff charge to the facilitated discussion group. 2. Therefore, the issue is passed back to the Board with no additional guidance except that, "It is not necessary to resolve the question of closed generic gTLDs as a dependency for the next round of new gTLDs. As such, we request that the Board remove it as a dependency and allow the next round to proceed.” [Not recommended wording, just the idea] This order delivers the headline first, i.e., the result of the facilitated discussion, and then puts guardrails regarding next steps. It is a small point but it makes more sense to me that way. As I said, take it or leave it. The current proposal you have developed is good work.
