I think it would be helpful if those who need translation services would identify which U.N. language is needed. That way we can pursue this possibility in the most cost efficient manner and maybe increase chances of succeeding. I think its valuable to initiate a discussion on wether the group feels that not having a translation service available is a barrier to participation and outreach and if so what can be done to alleviate any concerns in this area. Personally I feel that this is a process that encompasses an internationally diverse group and that participation should not be functionally limited to those who have a working command of any single language. However I do understand the logistics of providing such a service come at a cost. So is there a value in requesting translation (live or for the recorded calls) services to be provided to the group?
