There was an announcement on the ICANN page, but as a sidebar not a featured item. And the announcement was made after the call for SOIs began. It wasn't mentioned in the blog or other usual places (I asked about this on the ALAC internal list.) The process for submitting SOIs also seems a little awkward: either big pulse or via a PDF form (which you can't edit... I sent a text file of the SOI, but that hasn't appeared anywhere.) Hello Wolfgang,
I am in agreement - and hope that there will be an extension. That said, the original call was made on 23rd July 2010: http://www.icann.org/en/announcements/announcement-3-23jul10-en.htm
It is surprising that this original call doesn't appear to have made it into a widespread press release... or has it?
Kind regards,
Olivier

A little bit crazy: The press release is Agust 17 and the dateline August 21. Wonderful time for broader outreach ;-(((((.

Good morning:
The attached draft press release will be issued imminently by ICANN. I received this overnight from CLO who has approved it. It is on the agenda for today's EURALO call.
I have already queried the deadline of 21 August which is too short. That will no doubt now be changed.
In other respects I can agree to the text.
Regards,
CW
