Motion of the reconvened Working Group - Red Cross and Red Crescent protections - next steps
Dear Berry, dear Thomas, dear all, Further to the recent GNSO Council decision to defer the motion on the Reconvened Working Group's report and final recommendations on the protections of the Red Cross and Red Crescent designations and names, could you kindly update us on the consultations intended between GNSO Counsellors, the Chair of the reconvened Working Group and ICANN Staff. Please do not hesitate to let us know if a participation or contribution from our side is required in these discussions - and thus, in advance of the GNSO's reexamination of the motion which we understand to be planned on 27 September. Hi Stephane, Thomas will be meeting with the NCSG (group who requested the deferral) this coming Wednesday to brief them on the WGs full consensus recommendations. Its expected that this session will help them better understand how the Reconvened WG came to its conclusions and ready the NCSG for the September GNSO Council meeting. This motion will for sure be voted on by the GNSO Council at its 27 September meeting. Ill defer to Thomas on your participation request, but I suspect its not necessary at this time. As soon as the 27 September Council meeting concludes, I will update the outcome to this mailing list. Thank you. B Berry A.
